The success of the Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce will in no small part be a result of the efforts put forth by its various committees and their members. These committees help develop the Chamber's policy positions, raise funds for operations, act as a liaison to the community and coordinate special projects. As a Chamber, we are always looking for input from our members and the community as a whole to provide more value to our members and enhance business vitality in our community. We welcome volunteers to serve on our committees. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE The Executive Committee will deal with any matters of urgency which in the discretion of the President may require attention in the interval between regular directors' meetings and forward decisions to the next Board of Directors' meetings for approval. The Executive Committee will discuss, investigate, and forward recommendations related to current issues. FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance Committee will be tasked with the following: - Development of yearly Chamber budgets.
- Review and recommend approval of the sub-committee budgets.
- Submit budgets to the Board of Directors for approval.
- Review quarterly financial statements
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE - Establishes communication policies between internal and external groups.
- Provides Chamber members with an avenue for networking on an ongoing basis, encouraging members to participate throughout the year.
- Recognizes volunteer contributions to the Chamber.
- Develops communication strategies to attract and retain members.
- Coordinates newsletter publications and advertising insertions.
- Develops the website.
- Encourages media relations.
- Ensures the integrity of the Chamber's branding and logo.
PROGRAM AND EVENTS - Directs and forms subcommittees to carry out programming functions for the Chamber.
- Responsible for the coordination of regular Chamber Luncheon Speaker Series, Business after Five, and Breakfast meetings.
- Responsible for coordinating special programs and/or fundraising events such as the Annual Awards of Excellence and Citizen of the Year.
ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE The positioning statement for the Environment Committee: To ensure that environmental strategies and policies are economically sustainable for business and reduce risk to our community.
